Can Nutrition Lower Breast Cancer Risk? What Women Should Know This October

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and one of the most searched wellness questions is also one of the most important: Can what I eat lower my breast cancer risk?

Can food or supplements prevent breast cancer?

No single food, shake, vitamin or supplement can prevent breast cancer. The American Cancer Society says there is no strong evidence that taking vitamins or dietary supplements reduces breast cancer risk. What does matter is the bigger picture: regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, limiting alcohol, avoiding tobacco and eating an overall nutritious diet.

That distinction matters to us at Rockin’ Wellness. We will never tell you that a scoop of anything prevents cancer. What we can do is make plant-based nutrition easier to fit into a busy day.

What does a plant-forward routine look like?

Think less about a “miracle ingredient” and more about everyday choices. Fruits, vegetables, beans, seeds and other plant foods provide fiber and naturally occurring plant compounds. Our Chocolate Cacao Nutritional Shake was created around that same food-first idea, with real raw organic cacao and plant-based ingredients in an easy daily shake.

And during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the most important wellness reminder has nothing to do with a supplement: know your personal risk and stay current with recommended screening. The American Cancer Society recommends that women at average risk have the option to begin annual mammograms at ages 40–44, with annual screening recommended from 45–54.

What should I remember this October?

Eat well because your whole body deserves good nutrition. Move your body. Know your risk. Schedule the screening you may have been putting off. And remind the women you love to do the same.

Rockin’ Wellness products are foods/dietary supplements and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. If you are undergoing cancer treatment, discuss supplements with your oncology team because some ingredients can interact with treatment.
