Every year I would get a horrible flu, strep throat, tonsillitis and terrible allergies. Unfortunately, this continued into my adulthood. It wasn’t until age 27 and diagnosed with a life threatening digestive disease that I acknowledged that I even knew what an immune system was.
At that point in time, I knew I had to drastically change my lifestyle and completely rennovate my way of eating.
So, I researched every article ever written to learn all about proper nutrition and how it is an integral part to staying healthy. I immediately adopted a lifestyle of making better decisions with eating and nutrient consumption then noticed that my health improved immediately!
To this day, I rarely even get the slightest cold to which I solely attribute to making better food choices, consuming high content micronutrients, exercise, and staying hydrated on a consistent daily basis.
The immune system, more than any other system in the body, is the central hub for health and well-being because it affects every other part of the body. The healthier your immune system is, the better your body can cope with the many toxic burdens it may encounter. In other words, the fewer the toxic burdens, the more effectively your immune system will perform.
You see, allergens weaken the immune system as they are an irritant to our tissues and cause inflammation (swelling). Gluten is an example of an allergen that reeks havoc in the digestive tract causing terrible irritation in tissues which lead to inflammation and swelling limiting the body’s ability to absorb and assimilate nutrients properly.
That's why all of our products are always and will be forever be Gluten-Free.
Up to 70% percent of our immune system’s primary functions are directly related to the health of our stomach. Gut flora (gut bacteria) is how the body breaks down and digests food. The thicker the gut flora, the more ability our body has to assimilate food into proteins and micronutrients allowing us to absorb them effectively and efficiently.
That same Microbial Gut Flora that lives in your belly literally thrives on the antioxidant compounds found in Raw Cacao (Chocolate). That's why Cacao is one of the prime ingredients in Rockin’ Wellness!
Also included are Vegan-based Probioticsthat nourish the bacteria levels in our stomach. Most phytonutrients (superfoods) with high antioxidant capacity (for example: vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium, beta-carotene, polyphenols, tea catchins, ECGC (Epigallocatechin gallate), and other carotenoids) are all associated with enhancing immune function. This is particularly in those that need it most, immunosuppressed individuals, those with stress, depression, mood or hormonal issues, as well as the elderly.
Chances are if you are reading this article, you or someone you care about has a poorly functioning immune system, where damage may have already started.
Fortunately, the body comes with a "self-repair system" that can be activated with minimal effort on our part. Regardless of your state of health, it is almost certain that any nutritional improvement and/or lowering of your toxic load will result in at least some benefit in immune system function. Improvement is slow and steady which always wins the race.
What is the Immune System?
The immune system is heavily connected with all the systems of the body and works along side each of them, not independently like the digestive or respiratory system. It cannot be isolated and pinpointed in a diagram of the human body, but because it is so important and must react so quickly to invaders, its components and cells are found everywhere in the body.
Like the US ARMY, the immune system is set up to keep order and to recognize and attack enemies, to distinguish between friend and foe, self and non-self. It is the force field between you and the dangers to your health that come from our choices and the environment.
Rockin’ Wellness feeds that force field with quality nutrition stemming from the world’s top superfoods, making life more simple, easy, convenient and delicious.
To your excellent digestion,
