What are antioxidants and why should you care?
Oxidative stress, or free radicals, can be caused by several environmental factors such as exposure to pollutants, alcohol, medications, infections, poor diet, toxins, or radiation.
This stress reeks havoc on our cellular network and causes disruption in cell-to-cell communication which damages DNA, proteins, and other macro-molecules and can lead to a wide range of human diseases.
Oxidation reactions or "biological rusting" is an effect caused by too much oxygen in your tissues causing us to age more rapidly.
Normally free radical formation is controlled naturally by various beneficial compounds known as antioxidants and when there is deficiency of these antioxidants, damage due to free radicals can become cumulative and debilitating.
There's good news… antioxidants are capable of stabilizing, or deactivating, free radicals before they attack cells.
Many plant-derived substances are known as “phytonutrients” or “phytochemicals”. These also possess antioxidant properties while "phenolic" compounds such as flavonoids are derived from chemicals.
You are asking yourself, How Do I Find These Wonderful Nutrients for My Body?
Well, I am glad you asked… Wonderful antioxidant compounds can be found in several beans, seeds, root vegetables, fruits, leaves, herbs, greens, and medicinal mushrooms such as the ones that are in Rockin' Wellness smoothie & tea blends.
Our Products are considered intensely antioxidant-rich, which means that they are loaded with antioxidants.
Each ingredient in all of our products were chosen specifically because of their micro-nutrient and antioxidant content.
These plant chemical compounds (whether they are vitamins, selenium only minerals, polyphenols, ECGC, or tea catechins) all have a profoundly significant effect on us when taken daily because of the compound cleaning effect they have on our bodies!
Consuming one (1) serving of a Rockin' Wellness smoothie or tea blend would be consistent with the antioxidant effect of about fifty (50) cups of green tea!!! Healthy, huh?
This is great news for those looking to shed a few pounds because the tea catechins (antioxidants) are known to help reduce body fat too.
Did I mention that all of Our Products taste unusually fantastic?!?!
